THE CHEAPEST PLACES TO STUDY AROUND THE WORLD
The mention of overseas study immediately brings to mind the idea of impossibly high tuition fees and prohibitive living costs, which puts off many aspiring students. However, even on a tight budget, it is possible to get a good education abroad, if you pick the right places to study. These are some countries where it is possible to get quality education at prices that won’t burn a hole in your pocket! Here is a list of the cheapest countries to study abroad!
Taiwan
Universities in Taiwan offer great educational opportunities, with the National Taiwan University coming in at 68th place in the QS World University Rankings in 2016-17. Tuition fees for all programs are extremely affordable, coming in a less than US$ 5000 a year. Living costs are also very low and the quality of life is good.
Norway
Public Universities in Norway, with the exception of a few specialised programs are free for all students. Courses are available in English across all study levels, and students can expect a great quality of life amidst some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the world. However, living costs do not come cheap, and students may have to shell out at least US $14000 or thereabouts every year.
India
Students who like to explore new places and live amidst an ancient rich cultural heritage can make their way to India, one of the cheapest countries to study abroad. Tuition fees rarely cross US$ 7000 a year and living costs are also affordable. English is the most popular medium of instruction. The standard of living varies; some cities have bustling activity and vibrant opportunities, while others are very laid back.
Malaysia
Asians are well known for the care they give to education, and Malaysia is no exception. With its capital Kuala Lumpur number one on the QS list of Best Student Cities 2016, this is undoubtedly one of the best countries to study abroad on a budget. Tuition fees would be around US$ 4000 a year or less, and you would need only around US $4000 annually to live with a good lifestyle.
Germany
One of the cheapest countries to study medicine (medical programs are free, and students have to pay for just their living costs), Germany is a popular choice for international students. The only hitch is that students would need to be fairly fluent in the German language and have to pass linguistic ability tests. Masters’ students have to pay for their education, but many scholarships are available.
France
France is a beautiful country in which to study, with Paris being named as the number one student city in the world many times in a row. With tuition fees for both domestic and international students at the same level of below US$ 300 for most postgraduate programs, France is one of the cheapest countries to study a Masters’ degree.
We hope this has inspired you to set your money worries aside and embark on what could be one of the most incredible adventures of your life! Do consult a reputed overseas education consultant who can narrow down your choices and help you pick the university and program that is best for you!
